I love Pizza Hut, but I have to admit that I do miss the Pizza Hut India menu. It just had staples that I grew up with that I just can’t get here!
One of my favourite menu options from Pizza Hut India is the Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread!
From their website, it looks like this:
Their description on the menu is quite straightforward:
If you’re in North America, you’re probably familiar with the Cheesy Garlic Bread from Pizza Hut. For this recipe, we’ll basically be replicating that, but with an Indian touch - the heat of course! Don’t worry, these won’t be too spicy for you, and you can always adjust the amount of toppings to your preference!
Furthermore, you may have noticed that the cheese in this photo is not very cheesy, and perhaps in your personal experience getting the Cheesy Garlic Bread from Pizza Hut you haven’t had enough cheese come on top. Boo, that’s always really disappointing! The good news is that when you make your own cheesy garlic bread, you can add as much as you want, so you’re always satisfied!

What Bread is Best for Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread?
A thick-cut bread will be your best choice for restaurant-style Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread! The bread I used here was Belgian bread. I really love the flavour and crustiness of Belgian bread, so that’s what I went for! However, there are lots of bread options that you could choose from. All you need to look out for is a crusty bread with great flavour. Here are some other excellent options that will give you delicious results for your homemade Pizza Hut India Garlic Bread!
Baguette
Sourdough
Ciabatta
Challah
What Cheese Should I Use for Pizza Hut Garlic Bread?
I recommend you use two types of cheeses - a cheese that has a bit more “flavour” to it, and a cheese that will melt easily to give you the cheese pulls we all look for when eating cheesy garlic bread! Here, I’m using mozzarella for the stringiness, and I’m using a Mexican cheese blend for the taste. Yes, you may find it funny that I’m using Mexican cheese for garlic bread, which is Italian, and in this case we’re making Indian-style garlic bread. However, because the name of the garlic bread is coined “Spicy Supreme,” we want to add some spice to this particular garlic bread! The Mexican fiesta cheese blend I used had some spices in the cheeses, so that worked perfectly well here! However, you could use regular cheeses, or find one of the cheeses below with added spice, such as Monterey Jack with jalapeños or red chilli pepper Jack.
White cheddar
Old yellow cheddar
Swiss
Havarti
Provolone
Monterey Jack
Gouda
Smoked applewood cheddar

Bread: Here I used Belgian bread. I recommend you use a loaf that hasn’t been pre-cut so you can cut the bread into the desired size and thickness.
Cheeses: I used Mexican fiesta cheese and mozzarella cheese. The Mexican fiesta cheese blend contains shredded cheese (it doesn’t specify which!!), plus some added chilli peppers and black pepper. The formula for great garlic bread is one pully cheese and one “flavourful” semi-hard cheese, as described above. As I mention in my free motivational guide to explore your potential in the kitchen, Make Cooking Fun!,if you’ve already got suitable options in your fridge, then go ahead and use those - there’s no need to copy exactly what I’m doing!
Green chilies: Chopped. You could use jalapeños if you want, but the authentic choice is Thai green chilies.
Onions: Red onion is what’s used for the Pizza Hut India Spicy Supreme, but you can use whatever onions you want.
Garlic cloves: Fresh garlic cloves are key.
Butter: I actually used salted butter to add some flavour to my garlic butter. You can use unsalted butter and leave it as is, or season your garlic butter if you really want to.
Toppings: Optional toppings can be red pepper flakes, as I used, or Italian seasoning. Believe it or not, in India, Italian Seasoning to top pizza and pastas is becoming increasingly popular, so feel free to try that if you would like!
How to Make Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread
Preheat the oven at 350 F.
Add the butter and garlic in a bowl and microwave for 15-30 seconds or until just molten. Mix well. Season to taste if desired.
Use a pastry brush to scoop up some of the garlic, along with the butter and generously butter one side of each slice of bread.
Heat a pan on medium heat and once warm, add the bread, butter side down and toast until light golden brown. Flip and lightly toast the other side as well.
Transfer the toasted bread slices to a aluminium foil lined baking sheet and arrange in a single layer. Top each slice with 3-4 Tbsp of cheese, 1-2 Tbsp onion and 1-2 tsp chillies.
Place the baking sheet to the topmost rack of the oven and turn the oven to broil mode. Cook until cheese is molten and golden brown to your desire. Ensure the toast does not become too brown under the broiler.
Serve immediately with some chilli flakes for some extra heat.
Tips for Restaurant-Style Garlic Bread at Home
Preheat the oven while you’re preparing the ingredients and toasting the garlic bread on the pan so that the broiler is nice and hot when you’re ready to melt the cheese and toppings!
If you can, making the garlic butter the night before will allow the flavours to really meld together and develop so that you have the tastiest garlic bread possible!
Go for a crusty variety of bread that is also soft in the middle. A slight chewiness will also help add to the texture and flavour of the final garlic bread.
The toppings can be overhauled with finely chopped peppers, cilantro and pizza/oregano seasoning to suit your taste and flavour preferences.

SToring Leftover Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread
While this Pizza Hut Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread will most definitely be the tastiest fresh! You’ll get crazy satisfying cheese pulls, and the bread will be soft yet crispy when you bite into it. However, if for whatever reason you couldn’t eat all of the garlic bread you had made, that’s no problem at all! All you need to do is transfer the leftovers into an airtight container in the refrigerator. You could keep the garlic bread in the fridge for about a week, but I recommend to finish it as soon as possible so you prevent it from getting stale!
To reheat your Spicy Supreme Garlic Bread, simply place it in the microwave for 10 to 25 seconds, depending on how strong your microwave is. A little will certainly go a long way!
